How It Started
In 2021 in the middle of the Corona Pandemic, I made my very first stock purchase. As an online marketing specialist based in the Netherlands with a strong data-driven background, I’ve always had a passion for numbers, statistics, and analyzing trends—so it’s no surprise that I found my way into the world of dividend investing. The first stock that I bought: AbbVie Inc. (ABBV). This wasn’t a random decision. I selected this stock based on a clear set of fundamental criteria that I continue to use for every investment decision today.
My Investment Philosophy
I focus primarily on high-quality dividend stocks listed on U.S. exchanges, although I occasionally invest in Dutch companies such as Nationale Nederlanden and ASML. My stock selections are guided by strict fundamentals that help me build a reliable, long-term portfolio. These criteria include:
- Current Dividend Yield: Minimum 1%
- Dividend Growth: At least 5% annually over the past 5 years
- Payout Ratio: Maximum 80%
- Market Capitalization: Minimum $1 billion
